Small Egg farm. Big mission.
Family Farmed. Community Lead.

Astral Farms was built on the belief that the way food is raised has consequences — for animal welfare, for land stewardship, for the environment, and for the health of the families and communities we serve. We are a BIPOC, woman-run small family farm, tended daily by a mother and her child, raising pasture-raised hens and producing Xoxo’s Eggs. Our direct-to-consumer sales are not simply transactions — they are the engine that allows us to expand access to high-quality protein across our region, fund nonprofit partners, and employ seasonal staff who have historically experienced significant hardship.

About Us:

About Us — Astral Farms
We didn't start as farmers. We started as a family who believed food could be different.
In 2008, we planted our first seeds in an urban backyard — not with a business plan, but with a question: What happens when people actually know where their food comes from? Over the years, that question grew into a practice, and that practice grew into a purpose.
In 2024, Astral Farms was formally established — rooted in over a decade of lived experience and guided by a simple conviction: the way food is raised has consequences. For the animals in our care. For the land beneath our feet. For the air, the water, and the ecosystems we share. And for the families and communities who deserve access to food that was grown with intention.
Who We Are
Astral Farms is a BIPOC, woman-run small family farm, tended daily by a mother and her child. There is no large crew, no industrial operation, no shortcuts. Every morning, we walk the land. We check on our hens. We make decisions the way families do — carefully, personally, and with the long view in mind.
Our pasture-raised hens live the way hens are meant to live: outdoors, foraging, moving freely across land that is managed to support their health and the health of the soil. The result is Xoxo's Eggs — a product born not from a production line, but from daily, hands-on stewardship.
Why Direct-to-Consumer Matters
When you buy from us directly, you're not just purchasing eggs. You're participating in something larger.
Our direct-to-consumer sales are the engine that powers everything else we do. They allow us to keep our prices honest without sacrificing our practices. They fund partnerships with nonprofit organizations working toward food equity in our region. And they create seasonal employment opportunities for individuals who have historically faced significant barriers to stable, dignified work.
We believe access to high-quality protein shouldn't be a privilege. Every sale we make moves us closer to a model where it isn't.
What We Stand For

Animal welfare — Our hens are not a commodity. They are living animals, and they are treated accordingly.
Land stewardship — We farm in a way that gives back to the land, not just takes from it.
Environmental responsibility — Small-scale, pasture-based farming is part of a more sustainable food system. We're committed to being part of that solution.
Community health — Nutritious food and strong communities are inseparable. We show up for both.

Small Farm. Big Mission.
We are not trying to be the biggest farm. We are trying to be a good one — and to prove that goodness scales, that values don't have to be sacrificed for viability, and that a mother and child working the land together can feed a community and change how that community thinks about food.
Eggs raised the right way. From our family to yours.
