Introduction
This quick side dish transforms simple green beans into a flavorful, umami-packed treat. With garlic, tamari, and a touch of sweetness, these sticky green beans pair perfectly with rice, noodles, or grilled proteins.
Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp neutral oil for cooking
Chili flakes (optional)
Sesame seeds for garnish
Steps
Heat a large pan or wok over medium-high heat with neutral oil.
Add green beans and stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until bright green and starting to blister.
Add minced garlic and cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in tamari, honey, and sesame oil, tossing beans to coat evenly.
Cook 2–3 more minutes until sauce reduces and turns sticky.
Garnish with chili flakes and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
